Creating Moments of Heaven

Everyone has the potential and ability to create a little bit of heaven for others around him/her. All one needs is some genuine caring, tolerance, love, empathy, compassion, and kindness. Whenever we do that, we are creating moments of heaven. This could happen with other human beings, with animals, with nature, and even with ourselves.
Take a good look at your life and think hard: Are you enjoying such moments? And better yet, are you creating such moments? Moments like these will have a more rewarding and lasting impact on ourselves and others than a drink, new clothes, or a social tweet. Let’s add these caring and joyful heavenly moments to the necklace of our lives, and make the strands shine and sparkle.
In your busy and hectic lives, please pause and find time to do a good deed, say a kind word, show a bit of appreciation, listen to a heart in pain, put a smile on someone’s face, and help a person in need. This is the human spirit, and this is the kind of heaven where we want to spend our eternal lives. Why not make it happen now? Create moments of heaven for you and others around you.
This is also the teaching of our Chinese Ancestor Confucius as described in the Li-Yun Da-Tung (礼运大同) world of Great Harmony. When everyone lives in a harmonious world of caring, kindness, and harmony, we reach the vision of Shangri-La land (世外桃源).

天堂似的刹那

每個人都有潛力及能力為周遭其他人創造一些置身天堂的時刻。所有人都需要一些真誠的關懷、寬容、愛、同理心、惻隱之心以及仁慈。只要我們這樣做，就是在創造置身天堂的時刻。這可能發生在人與人之間、與動物之間、與大自然、甚至與自己之間。
好好看一下自己的生活、認真思考一下，你是否享受這樣的時刻？或者你能夠做得更好，去創造這樣的時刻？這种感觉，比好喝的飲料、漂亮的新衣、或是在推特上的發文，更能對別人和自己產生正向且持久的影響。而我們在生活中，增加的這些關心與歡樂時刻，也讓生活變得更美好、更有意義。
在繁忙的生活步調中，請記得找個時間暫停一下，去做件好事、說些好話、表達感謝之意、傾聽人家內心的痛苦、或者去讓別人展露笑容、甚至去幫助一個需要幫忙的人。這是身為人的精神，也是我們想過的好生活。何不就從現在開始，為自己及周圍的人創造那個讓人置身天堂的小小時刻。
這也是古賢聖人所描述”禮運大同”的境界。當大家都生活在一個如此和諧、充滿關懷、良善的世界時，我們其實就達到了大家都憧憬的 ”世外桃源”。
