Golden Era for Entrepreneurs | 創業者的黃金時代

I am delighted to see many of my young friends and family members start up their own businesses. Their innovative ideas for serving unmet customer needs and their passion for helping others are touching and inspiring. They are involved in a variety of businesses: organic dairy products, greeting cards, food gift packaging, designer active-wear, repurposed baby furniture, earth-friendly skincare products, and shared e-bikes. Regardless of what they do, they all seem to have mastered the 3 ingredients of success: Purpose, Passion, and Profit. It is heartwarming to see them doing well in their businesses and also doing good for society.

What has contributed to the emergence of so many successful young entrepreneurs? Many factors in the market, supply chain, resources, information, and communication technology have shaped this “golden era” for entrepreneurs.

First and foremost, all the entrepreneurs have a strong desire to serve and a keen understanding of people’s needs and desires. They can sense the customers’ mindsets and emerging opportunities. The entrepreneurs also have a strong can-do spirit and self-confidence.  To them, unknowns and obstacles are just exciting challenges to be overcome with learning, tenacity, and trials.

Second, they know how to utilize the internet and social media to establish a customer base and link with sponsors. They test the market, co-develop with customers, solicit user feedback, promote products and services, and generate crowdfunding.  They effectively establish a close-knit network of “user, investor, and developer” without the bureaucracy of design, marketing, sales, and customer service departments often found in large companies.

Third, they have a sharp knowledge of the workers and consumers in a gig economy. Depending on how customer needs and products change, these entrepreneurs know how to tap into the ecosystem to contract special talents, manufacturers, distributors, and social media marketers to respond swiftly, while keeping fixed costs to a minimum.

Mastering these 3 factors has created a golden era for many new entrepreneurs. Maybe you can join them and fulfill your dream too.

            我很開心看到許多我的年輕朋友們、以及家族中年輕的一輩,出來自己創業。他們創新的想法,可以去服務未被滿足的客戶需求;而他們熱心去幫助別人,不但令人動容、更鼓舞人心。他們做的業務各式各樣:有機乳製品、賀卡、食物禮品包裝、健身時尚服裝、專用嬰兒家具、對地球有益的皮膚護理產品、以及共享电动自行車等。不論作哪一行,他們看起來都已經掌握到成功的三個重點:目的、熱情、以及利潤。看到他們在自己的領域中,都有好的表現,並且對社會有貢獻,真的覺得很窩心!

          是什麼因素,促成有這麼多成功的年輕創業者崛起?包括市場、供應鏈、資源、信息、以及通訊技術等當中有許多因素,塑造了創業企業家的黃金時代时机。

          首先,所有創業者都會有強烈的服務動力,並對於人們的需求和慾望有敏銳的了解。他們可以感受到客戶的心態以及新機會的出現。企業家們也有較強的進取心和自信心。對他們來說,未知事物與障礙,只是令人興奮的挑戰,需要透過學習、堅韌、以及嘗試來克服。

          其次,他們知道如何利用龐大的網路機制以及社會媒體,來建立客戶與贊助商。他們測試市場、與客戶共同開發、尋求顧客的反饋、推廣產品與服務,並募資造勢。他們超效率地建立了一個由”用戶、投資者和研發商”所組成的緊密網絡,而沒有大公司裡頭的設計、營銷、銷售,以及客戶服務部門的官僚組織。

            第三、他們對零工經濟中分布的經銷商和資源,有著敏感的認知。根據客戶和產品不斷變化的需求,這些企業家知道如何進入生態系統、與特殊人才、製造商、以及社群媒體人員簽約,以迅速作出反應;同時將固定成本保持在最低要求。

            掌握了這三個要素,將会是創造者企業家的黃金時代。或許,你也可以加入他們的行列,實現自己的夢想!
